In-flight Health

Aviation is the safest form of public transport and for the vast majority of the millions of travelers who fly every year, air travel has no significant impact on their health.

We've put together a few simple tips to help you make sure that you arrive at your destination in tip-top shape.

  • Enjoy the view. Flying in Central America, especially with our Vista Liner Twin Otters is not just a flight but a sky tour, take in the views, get to know the country and enjoy yourself - our longest flight is only 50 minutes!
  • Love thy ears. Avoid flying with sinusitis or ear problems as cabin pressure changes during the flight may cause discomfort. If you experience problems during the flight try to have some gum or candy on hand or hold your nostrils and gently blow through your nose, this should equalize the pressure in most healthy people.
  • Drink plenty! Bring water with you on our flights, this is the tropics and it is hot. You might find yourself in the cabin on the runway and it's nice to
  • Have a bottle of water handy. Avoid alcohol, tea and coffee or carbonated drinks, as they will dehydrate you.
  • Eat light. Avoid heavy meals and foods - feeling bloated is never a good feeling but it can be even worse at 7000 feet.
  • Go in style. Costa Rica is blessed with more climates than we can count, so even though you might be hot in Tamarindo you could feel cold while flying to San Jose . Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes and shoes and carry a sweater just in case.
  • Relax. If you feel uneasy at the thought of flying, don't worry you are not alone. We have flown over 250,000 flights and over 1 million people in Central America without a scratch. We have had the pleasure of flying dignitaries of state as well as some top-notch actors and athletes (we won't say names) but anyone can get a little nervous. So just relax, breathe and enjoy the views and know that the journey is the best part and we'll be there before you know it.
