Nature Air received the "Robert Smith" award for best airline operating in Costa Rica at this year’s Tourism Industry Awards organized by the National Chamber of Tourism (CANATUR).
Costa Rican Vice President Alfio Piva was in attendance at the semi-annual ceremony hosted at the Winham Herradura Hotel on Sept 25.
The distinction was awarded shortly after the airline moved operation of five of its routes to the Juan Santamaría International airport (SJO).
Nature Air flights from San Jose to Tambor, Quepos, Nosara, Punta Islita and Palmar Sur are running right now from SJO, and the entireoperation will be flown out of the airport’s main terminal as of December 1st.
“This year has been a period of growth and maturation that saw the consolidation of routes and the opening of new ones in order to offer our customers a memorable experience as they explore the many natural wonders of our beautiful country,” Nature Air’s Commercial Director Orvieto Morales said.
“One of Nature Air's most important achievements this year has been the move to the Juan Santamaría International Airport. Among the many advantages of being in a modern terminal, the customer experience is top priority as well as international connections to our main destinations."
The new location facilitates seamless connections for passengers on international flights with Nature Air’s regional destinations. The new check-in desk is located at the main terminal next to American Airlines and Jet Blue, with most flights departing from Gate 17. In further efforts to match industry demand, Nature Air will offer flights between Tortuguero with Arenal and it will increase the frequency of flights to Managua, Nicaragua and Bocas del Toro, Panama beginning this December 2013.
