getting to the Nature Air terminal

The Nature Air terminal is located at Tobias Bolaños International Airport (SYQ) located about 5 miles west of downtown and is about 10 miles away from the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Domestic flights: Check-in for domestic flights within Costa Rica is 45 minutes prior to departure time and closes 25 minutes before scheduled departure time at all airports. Passengers that do not comply with this requirement will not be allowed to board the flight.

International flights: Check-in in San Jose for international flights to Bocas del Toro, Panama and Managua, Nicaragua is 1.5 hours prior to scheduled departure, and closes 40 minutes prior to departure. Check-in is 2 hours prior to scheduled departure for international flights to San José, Costa Rica from Bocas del Toro, Panama and Managua, Nicaragua, and closes 1 hour prior to departure.

domestic airport fees

arrival and departure fees - arenal / quepos / tambor

Nature Air flies to 13 private airports throughout Costa Rica. A handful of these airports require passengers to pay an arrival and departure fee. To best prepare yourself for the trip, remember to have the following sums ready in colones or dollars when arriving to and departing from the airports:

The other domestic airports do not charge a user fee.

international flight fees

departure fee - costa rica to managua / bocas del toro, nicaragua

Passengers departing from the Tobias Bolaños Airport in San Jose, Costa Rica or the Daniel Oduber Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica en route to Managua/Bocas del Toro, must pay a $28 international departure fee in cash at the airport as required by the Costa Rican government.

arrival fee - managua, nicaragua

A $10 international arrival fee will be charged in cash upon arrival to Managua.

departure fee - bocas del toro:

When departing the Bocas del Toro airport, all travelers must pay a $15 departure fee as required by airport authorities at the Nature Air counter in US dollars.
